We hope that every rider will try and raise at least £100 or more sponsorship money for Cancer Research UK from their ride. Even if you have already done a sponsored event in the year, you will have some friends or business colleagues who are willing to sponsor you. We recommend you use both a sponsorship form and the Dorset Bike Ride Cancer Research UK fund raising page. Online is a a great way to raise money, enabling people you do not see to sponsor you really easily and you can use the link to the CRUK Just Giving site specifically for sponsorship by riders in the Rotary Dorset Bike Ride.

To set up your online fundraising page:
Go to https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/unite/rotary-dorset-bike-ride and then click on the pink "Start Fundraising" button to set up your new fund raising page, which will automatically be linked to this event.

Fundraising Tips

- Get on social media: add the details of your ride to your Facebook page and provide a link to your fundraising page as well as to our website www.dorset-bike-ride.co.uk and our Facebook group.
- Collect as you go: if using the hardcopy sponsorship form try and collect the pledge straight away as people may forget that they owe you money and it will save time later.

- Set yourself a high target: a really high target can really motivate people, so tell people your goal and ask them to help you reach it.
- Be persistent: Try re-sending the link to your online fundraising page one week before the event to get some last minute sponsors. Then send it one more time once you've done the event - it's never too late!
