Camping at Longthorns

Why not make a weekend of it, whether you're taking part in the ride or volunteering, put your feet up and settle down in style at Longthorns Farm, one of our project partners.  As an extra special incentive, they've very kindly offered a discount to our riders, volunteers and their families.

Longthorns is a small farm and award winning site nestled next to Monkey World in the heart of rural Dorset.  They don't offer regimented pitches, just camp-fires, stargazing a chance to get back to nature. Enjoy our wonderful woodland walk, gorgeous alpacas and green spaces. 

They are located within easy access to many famous Jurassic Coast attractions, Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Lulworth Cove, miles of beautiful coast line.

​Their champion breeding Alpacas, initially bought to guard the chickens from foxes, have done them proud at local and National shows. They keep a herd of around twenty Alpacas on site so you are sure to see them smiling and watching you over the weekend.  They offer the public the chance of an Alpaca Experience, walking Alpacas.

How to book

There are several options available for camping at Longthorns:​

• Event Camping Pitch for 4 persons without electric hook up: accommodates tents, caravans, motorhomes and Camper vans 
• Event Camping Pitch for 4 persons with electric hook up: accommodates tents, caravans, motorhomes and Camper vans 
• Shepherd’s Huts for up to 4 people: basic furnishings, double bed (bring own bedding) and basic kitchenette with outside firepit 
• Tippeco glamping for up to 4 people: beds, kitchen unit with outside firepit and seating.
