2025 ROTARY DORSET BIKE RIDE IS CANCELLED DUE TO SAFETY OF RIDERS AND VOLUNTEERS IN WORSENING WEATHER CONDITIONS OVER THE WEEKEND.
Watch out for news of 2026 date for the event.
Please note that online registrations for the 2025 is now closed but you can register on site on the day of the ride.

Riders can still register on the day and take part in the great Rotary Dorset Bike Ride in aid of Cancer Research UK, head to the Registration and Check-In marquee when registrations open at 8.00am, with first ride (80 mile) due to start at 8.30am.

Longthorns Campsite is the venue for the Rotary Dorset Bike Ride again and we are looking forward to seeing previous riders and new riders on the day for what is always a fun filled event - and this year your supporters can take part in their own static bike ride on site with live music to listen to during the day. Remember pitches at Longthorns Campsite are still available to book directly with them at a discounted price too and Jurassic Bike Hire will have some last minute emergency items for sale. The aim is to have an enjoyable day whilst raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
This event is well known for the friendliness and welcome of its volunteer marshals and for raising much needed funds for Cancer Research UK so we can help them beat cancer. Sponsorships raised for CRUK will be much appreciated and will help them to carry out essential research to meet the needs of those diagnosed with cancer, but equally, if riders wish to raise funds for other cancer charities - then we still want to hear about this fundraising too.
Children under 16 will once again have free registration for all routes for on-line registrations in advance – but must be accompanied by a full fee paying adult who is responsible for their safety throughout the ride.
In 2025, we will have 5 routes of differing lengths on offer for amateur to serious cyclists and families - but are planning to add an extra fundraiser for supporters at our base where your friends and family supporters can meet our challenge to raise funds for CRUK by seeing how far they can cycle on a static bike in the registration marquee on site in just 15 minutes to 'shine a light' for cancer sufferers with each 15 minute sessions costing just £15 and all of it will be donated to CRUK as part of the events fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
This new fundraising challenge and sponsorship opportunity for supporters cannot be pre-booked as time slots will be allocated throughout the day subject to availability.

Charity Sportive Bike Ride
Rides suitable for all the family
as well as amateur or serious cyclists! 5 routes from 22 to 80 miles - you decide what challenge you want to take on! 2 Free Food Refreshment Stops for all registered riders at various points along the routes Free entry for children under 16 for all on-line registrations All children must be accompanied by a registered fee paying adult responsible for their safety throughout the ride. Last minute emergency items to purchase from Jurassic Bike Hire in the registration marquee, and offer opportunity to hire a bike in advance to ride in the event if you do not have a bike but want to take part. Entry Fees 2025
REGISTRATION FEES
- 22 and 35 mile - On-line advance registration - £30 per rider - increasing to £35 for registrations on the day.
- 55, 70 and 80 mile routes - On-line advance registration - £40 per rider increasing to £45 for registrations on the day
- Children* under 16 yrs are FREE ON ALL ROUTES for on-line registrations
- However, *ALL children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult rider throughout the ride.
